Dr. Shirin Setarehshenas is a Board- Licensed Clinician providing therapeutic services in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Shirin specializes in the early identification and intervention of childhood developmental challenges and treatment of emotional and behavioral challenges including: anxiety, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, social skills deficits, self-esteem, trauma, and school dynamics, with focus on the impact of parenting dynamics on the child and the broader family system. As a child therapist, she treats children, teenagers, individuals, and families facing mental health concerns, and offers parent coaching. She works with individuals to meet each client’s unique needs to promote overall well-being toward meaningful healing and personal growth.
Dr. Shirin's professional background includes a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (M.A.) with a specialization in child development, she is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) #126574. She has over a decade experience as a school therapist and an extensive experience providing therapeutic care in diverse settings, including public and non public schools, inpatient and outpatient clinics and private practice.
Dr. Shirin offers in-person sessions and telehealth sessions for clients residing in California, as well as play therapy for younger children. Please contact her to schedule a free consultation to discuss your concerns.
Dr. Shirin works with children, teenagers, individuals and families to navigate challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. She works together with individuals to improve communication, resolve conflicts, strengthen relationships, and work on emotional and behavioral challenges.
Dr. Shirin provides support to parents/caregivers through navigating challenges with their child with interventions and resources, helping empower parents at home and to effectively advocate for their child's needs within the educational environment and with IEP's.
Session are 50 minutes in duration and available both in-person and via telehealth for clients residing in California.
While not in-network with insurance providers, a superbill can be provided for reimbursement purposes if necessary, please contact Dr. Shirin to discuss session fees, sliding scale can be offered.
